Emily Davis
is a Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity. She is in her final year at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver pursuing a Master of Arts in International Studies with a focus in Human Rights and a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance. Emily’s specialization is in gender-based violence and women’s rights. Previously, Emily interned for the Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility Community of Practice where she identified, tracked, and quantified information and support requests posted on the Community of Practice website by participant members from around the world. She hopes to pursue a career in gender-based violence prevention, peace, and security. As a Research Fellow, Emily is collecting research, providing analysis, and contributing to policy proposals designed to improve outcomes for children and adolescents globally, enhance global peace and security approaches by supporting women's participation, and improve humanitarian responses in conflict affected in regions. 

2020 & 2021

​​​Kaitlin Lee was a 2020 and 2021 Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity. Katie is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at the Davis School of Law, University of California.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, concentrating on public policy and bioethics with a focus on international development and humanitarian aid policy. Katie’s research has centered on child-trafficking, refugee and asylum policies, and aid programs on international child development. She previously interned at United Way, International Justice Mission, and Justice Ventures International.  At United Way, Katie wrote and served as an advocate for their programs on early childhood and adolescent development. Katie hopes pursue a career within the U.S government advocating for policies relating to civil society and international aid. As a Research Fellow for Strategy for Humanity, Katie synthesized learning and best practices on topics such as whole child development, meaningful youth engagement, and effective integration of diversity and anti-racist practices.  While working as a Research Fellow, Strategy for Humanity was delighted to recommend Katie for employment at the Tides Center, a client, where she provided timely policy analysis and track advocacy developments. 

2020

Liv Gwilliam was a 2020 Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity during the time prior to being graduated from the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Service at the University of Virginia where she  completed a double major in Global Studies, Environment and Sustainability and in Public Policy and Leadership. Liv’s specialization is in environmental protection and climate justice and she hopes to pursue a career in environmental policy and law.  As a Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity, Liv focused on environmental protection and climate justice. For this project, Liv provided research analysis and summary briefs examining international deforestation and conservation law in Brazil.  We are delighted that Liv is now applying her experience and extensive talent as an employee at a firm focused on expanding sustainable energy practices that benefit people, the environment, and business.

Adib Milani was a 2020 Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity after receiving his Master of Arts in International Affairs with a specialization in Islam and the Middle East from Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. Adib wrote his thesis on the Jihadist Recidivism Threat in the United States and was seeking a career protecting U.S. national security and preventing potential online and offline threats. As a Research Fellow at Strategy for Humanity, Adib focused on international justice, exploring how governments influence, obstruct or contest investigations launched by the International Criminal Court, and examining prosecution options within and outside the Rome Statute framework. For this project, Adib analyzed relevant developments in Israel, the United Kingdom, and Russia. We are delighted that Adib is now applying his talents and experience as an employee working to enhance U.S. national security, track and prevent potential threats, and protect human rights.
